I have always had a keen interest in a variety
of artistic pursuits. Coming from a family with a strong fine
arts background I was exposed to many different art forms and
mediums as a child. As a teenager and young adult I focused
mainly on figurative oil painting, soft pastel and a brief period
of silversmithing. During the spring of 2006 I became interested
in the one area I lacked previous experience: sculpture. After
much research, I chose polymer clay as my starting medium, both
for it's ease of use from a home studio and beauty when used
in figurative work. By July I had finished my first three figures
and sculpturing has fast become my chosen artistic focus.
Currently I am expanding my knowledge of the polymer
clay medium and growing in my experience and skill as a sculptor.
My work will cover a variety of figurative forms, from fantastical
and mythological to current modern representations.
My goal as I learn and grow in ability is to express through
my work the beauty in all aspects of the human condition.
